Homework#2

a. Do you have any international friends or a host family? If so, how would you express your condolences to them if a family member died? If not, then how would you express consolences to an American host family if their Grandmother died?

Yes,I have international friend, my family was her hostfamily.
If her family member would die, I will write a letter "I'm sorry to hear what happened. Please try not to get depressed."

b. Have you ever been to a foreign funeral?

I've never been to a foreign funeral, but I've visited my hostfamily's relaton's grave.



a.Why are Japanese designer label crazy? Why is what you wear so important?

I don'tn know this question mean...

b.What does “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” mean to you?

I think many Japanese people judge only an appearance. If a person wear unusual clothes, many people stare at a person, and people think that "That person is strange."
They don't understand a person's inside.
I was sometiimes stared, so I hate this idea.

Homework#1

1.Do you agree with the web site's description?What do you do that can be called "wrapping"? Give examples and reasons for your actions.

I agrre with web site's description.
"Furoshiki" is wrapping manything, it is Japanese culture.
And , I think that Japanese things are wrapped extra. When we bought, something, it is wrapped closely.(e.g. foods, clothes, furtitures and electrical fittings)

a. Where do you go when you die?
I think that people don'to go anywhere...People are become nothing, however I want to believe that people go to the heaven or hell.


b. Explain why do Japanese have death memorial services 1 month, 1 year, 3 years, 7 years, etc. after a person's death?

I don't konw why Japanese people have death memorial services these years, but I think these numbers are familiar in Japanese people.
